Three questions to ask about your coverage

1. What could go wrong? For convenience stores, it’s often spills by the drink cooler, icy entryways, trip hazards around displays and customer injuries. Short visits add up to a lot of customers, and a single fall can lead to a claim.

2. Do I need GL or a BOP? General liability handles third-party bodily injury, property damage and (for most classes) personal and advertising injury, with per-occurrence limits of $300K, $500K, $1M or $2M. A BOP adds property and business income protection. A BOP protects your inventory, coolers and fixtures and adds business income.

3. Will my business qualify? Eligible stores are 3,000 sq ft or less with no gas pumps, no 24-hour hours, car wash, deep fryers, propane filling (exchange is okay), check cashing, gambling machines, cannabis, or tobacco-only sales. Spoilage and food contamination aren’t available.
